This mugs are made in Haitian using clay from the central plateau. They are etched with the artists name and "Haiti" on the bottom. They fit perfectly in your hand!
A little about the co-op that makes the mugs:
Papillon Enterprise is working in Haiti to provide jobs to Haitian men and women, teaching them job skills and providing them a stable income. In turn, these artisans are able to keep their children out of orphanages, provide their children with food and education and keep their families together. Papillon Enterprise employs more than 300 hard working Haitians and has a daycare on site for the workers' children.
Size: Each mug is approximately 4 3/4 inches tall. It has a wide 4" base at the bottom of the mug with a more narrow 3 1/4" opening at the top: a perfect mug for drinking your morning coffee or tea!
How to take care of your mug: The mugs are lead-free, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe, although we recommend hand-washing them and keeping microwave use minimal to offer extra care and enhance the longevity of your mug (as you would do with any other handmade, hand-glazed item).
